Prof. Rik Torfs, Rector of the University of Leuven invites Alumni and friends to join him for a panel and reception as we discuss Sir Thomas More and Utopias of the Past, Present and Future.

The panel celebrates the 500th anniversary of Thomas More’s Utopia, published for the first time in Leuven in 1516. The discussion will explore More’s vision of the world during his time and our ideas of Utopia of today and tomorrow. This special evening honors the friendship between KU Leuven and individuals and institutions throughout the US.

Professor Jan Van der Stock, Curator of "In Search of Utopia"

Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Earth Institute, Columbia University

Marianne Amssoms, Vice President Global Communications, Anheuser-Busch InBev

Ambassador (Rtd.) Howard Gutman, Former US Ambassador to Belgium


Peter Vanham, Media Strategist, World Economic Forum

The panel will begin at 5:30pm, and will be followed by the reception at 7:30pm.
